Preparing Images for the Web

Generally:
Width= 350px(4.861") no height limit.
Images can be resized by the program but it's best if they're loaded to size as it will use less processing time and they will load faster.

Usually 450px (6.25") is good for enlarged view

Color Mode= RGB
Resolution= 72 dpi
File Size= 200kb or less (BETTER 30kb or less)
Save for web as: jpg or gif files

Compress your image files, use the "Save for Web" feature in Adobe Photoshop,
www.jpegwizard.com or MicroSoft Office Picture Photo Editor (use pixels rather than inches)

Tip, create a new item always by hitting "new" button in green at the top of the list of current group. Once you type in the title and text and hit save a new page will be created, then you will see a spot to load the photo.

DO NOT USE THE DELETE FUNCTION, UNLESS YOU WISH TO DELETE A PAGE OR IMAGE FROM THE SITE ENTIRELY. (If you delete an image from the website it is gone entirely, so you need to keep a copy on your computer or save the image to disk or cd)

Uploading Images

Note: Although the website will scale your images, you'll need to resize and/or compress them before uploading. This will save time and make the website run faster. Make sure your images are no larger than: width 450pt (325pt or less is best) with a file size of 200kb (30kb or less is best) . To compress your image files, use the "Save for Web" feature in Adobe Photoshop, or use Jpeg wizard (http://www.jpegwizard.com )

Images must be in either .jpg, .gif, or .png format. Flash .swf files are also usable starting with version 2.9

It is easy to upload images and files to your Invisible Gold website. You can upload an image anywhere you see the "Click To Upload Image" box.

Using the Upload Page
After clicking the "Upload" button, click Browse to navigate your computer files and select an image to upload. Next, click the Upload button to send the file to the server.

Note: Contact your Host or Web Designer if the file seems to have trouble uploading. It could be either the wrong type of image (should be a GIF or JPG image), or the server could be configured to not allow large files to be uploaded.

Image Properties
Once an image is on your website, you can change its size, position, and type a caption. Some templates restrict some of these options. (For example, you cannot set the position of an image in a slideshow, but you can set the caption.)

The position is relative to the text on the page. Top goes above the text (centered at the top). Left and Right have the text wrapped around the image. Bottom is centered below the text.
Click to Expand allows the website visitor to click on the image to see a larger version.

Note: For animated GIF files, you must set the size to "don't resize" if you want it to animate.
Flash Files
Uploading Flash Files

You can upload the Flash .swf file anywhere you see the "Click To Upload Image" box.

Once an image is uploaded, you'll need to select properties; set the size to Don't Resize and set the Default Size; width and height (use the same dimensions that are displayed next to Don't Resize.

If it's a large file your Browser may time out before it loads. If you run into problems you can email the .swf file to me and I'll upload it for you.
